The School was honoured by visits from two Ministers from the Welsh Assembly Government. Jane Davidson, Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing, participated in the extremely well received ECODAY at Planners’ School 1 and Leighton Andrews, Deputy Minister for Regeneration, spoke alongside Ros Dunn of Communities and Local Government in a morning session on Tackling Disadvantage.
Elected Members’ School opened with an address from Baroness Young, Chief Executive of The Environment Agency and was closed by Paul Coen, Chief Executive of the Local Government Association.
Synopses, powerpoint presentations, full texts where available and summaries of plenary papers are available to study and download from this website.
The weather was fantastic and delegates took advantage of the university’s proximity to the beach both before and after sessions. A wide ranging programme of study tours visited places as diverse as Cardiff Bay with its award winning Senedd Building to a fully operational wind farm at Ffynnon Oer.
